Get the Wren preview

Wren is free during the preview. Sign in with Google to download it, so the developer knows who is trying it and can reach early users about important fixes.

See how Wren looks before you download: a 68-second recording of the preview.

You'll go to Google's own sign-in page and come straight back here. Wren's download list keeps your name, email address and the version you downloaded, and nothing else. See the Privacy Policy.

Requirements

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.
Asking ChatGPT works with any ChatGPT account, in your browser. Running ChatGPT inside Wren needs a Plus or Pro plan (details). Local AI is optional and uses Ollama.

Install

Open the DMG and drag Wren into Applications.
Open Wren. This preview isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS blocks it the first time.
Go to System Settings › Privacy & Security, find the message about Wren and click Open Anyway.
Optional: check the download with shasum -a 256 -c Wren-macOS-universal-unsigned.dmg.sha256 in the folder that holds both files.
